Swish is an app that is used to transfer money between private individuals, but also to make payments to companies.
Swish is used by 7 million Swedes, with customers ranging from private individuals to small associations and large companies. With Swish, payments are made directly from and to your bank account via your mobile number. It is easy to start using Swish. Link your phone number to your bank account and make it possible to pay in real time – anywhere, anytime.

For individuals, Swish‎ is free to use, and it doesn’t cost anything to send or receive money.‎

Yes, if the store is connected to Swish, it’s possible to pay with Swish in the same manner as you would to a private person. If the store offers QR payment, you can pay by scanning their QR code‎. In some cases, stores offer payments with blip. You pay by blipping your phone at checkout, either via Bluetooth‎ or an NFC tag‎

Yes, however, it is required that the store in question has activated online payments with Swish. If that’s the case, this option appears when you are presented with the different payment methods.‎

 

The rules for maximum amounts and how much that can be swished in a week vary between banks. 

 

No, but if you don’t have a smartphone or tablet, you only have the option to receive Swish payments. If you also want to be able to send payments, you need to download the apps for Swish and Mobile BankID, and for that you need a smartphone or tablet. It is also good to know that the apps for Swish and Mobile BankID‎ need to be on the same device.‎

Then you need to end the connection to your old mobile number and connect your new one. The easiest way to do this is in your internet bank. After that, you will need to activate the Swish app again, to update the app with the right information.

 

 

Yes, you can use Swish abroad, but some data traffic costs may apply.‎

 

Your QR code is generated automatically using your mobile number, so you don’t have to create it yourself. You can find your code under “View QR” on the app’s home screen.‎

 

Just press the “Scan” button and point the camera at the QR code. Check the payment and accept using Mobile BankID. Done!‎

 

If you still have your old mobile number, all you have to do is download and activate the Swish app on your new phone. However, if you have changed your mobile number, you must first terminate your old one and then connect your new‎

Start by double-checking that the money has actually been withdrawn from your account. You can do this both under “History” in the Swish app and in the account history of your bank account. After that, make sure that you have entered the correct mobile number and that the name was correct at the BankID signing of the payment. If you still feel something is wrong, you need to contact your bank.‎

As long as you keep your old mobile number, all you have to do is connect your new bank account to Swish. This will automatically end the connection to your old account. After that, you will need to activate the Swish app again, to update the app with the right information.‎

 

This is what we recommend:

  • Double-check that you have the latest version of the app.
  • Make sure your app has access to the internet.
  • Quit the app and turn it back on.

If none of this works, you need to contact your bank. Ask them to help you check your Swish account connection.‎

 

You can’t swish someone who doesn’t have Swish! If you enter a number that is not connected to Swish, you will receive a message that the payment cannot be made.‎

 

Contact your bank immediately. The bank can help you in finding out where the money has been sent. The bank can also contact the recipient and ask him/her to make a refund to your account. However, the bank cannot recover the money. Therefore, always check that the received name is correct before approving a transfer.‎
